Johnny Tremain

Johnny Tremain by Esther Forbes is a book about a kid named Johnny who likes to carry his gun. He also has four friends, and lives in a house and sometimes rides in a boat and sometimes carries around a horn and he is in love with his life as a boy who wears a pirate hat.

The most interesting part of the book for me was when he held a gun and looked at some guy and there were people behind him. One of the guys was a british man. But he was mostly just a friend. The End.

Matilda

Matilda by Roald Dahl and illustrated by Quentin Blake is a book about a cartoon girl who likes to read a lot with her penguin friend who lives in an orange bubble and likes to live in Matilda’s books.

Sometimes Matilda gets really tired so she likes to stack up her books and sit on them. This normally makes her happy, and she looks at her other books and likes to think about why she’s tired and why she’s happy.

My favorite part of the book was when Matilda read a bunch of her books, because I also read books.

Old Yeller

Old Yeller by Walt Disney is a book about an old person who likes to yell. He lives near a river that has a tree. There is also grass and other plants.

The part that was the best for me to read was probably when he talked about the tree and how the tree was shaped. The tree was not straight up and down, it was sideways so a person could sit on it. It also had branches and small plants on it and it splits to look like two trees.

There is also a boy and a dog. End.

My Brother Sam is Dead

My Brother Sam is Dead by Christopher Collier and James Lincoln Collier is a book about a guy's brother Sam and how he died. The focus is on the guy primarily but a large amount of focus is sometimes focused on the guy's brother, named Sam.

Sam also has a brother, but Sam's brother is a guy who does not die. He will eventually, but the guy doesn't die in this book because Sam is the one who dies.

Also this book is written in the first person. This is why the book’s title says my brother Sam is dead.
